Medchal man ends life after losing Rs. 2 lakhs in cricket betting

Two men in Telangana, India, have tragically taken their own lives after losing significant sums of money through online betting. Somesh, 29, from Medchal district, died by suicide on March 25th after losing ₹2 lakh in cricket betting. Sirikonda Nikhil Rao, a 22-year-old student from Karimnagar, also took his own life on March 10th after accumulating substantial debt from online betting. Following these incidents, the Miyapur police have filed a case against 25 individuals, including several celebrities, for allegedly promoting online betting platforms. The FIR names actors Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Vijay Devarakonda, Manchu Lakshmi, and Nidhi Agarwal, among others, for endorsing betting sites such as Jungleerummy.com, A23, Yolo247.com, and JeetWin. VC Sajjanar, a senior IPS officer, has issued a public warning against the dangers of online betting, highlighting the tragic consequences of such activities. He urges young people to avoid falling into the trap of easy money and to protect their future.
