Telangana Govt ends services of 177 retired officers, including Hyderabad Metro MD N.V.S. Reddy
The Telangana government has ordered the termination of all retired officers and staff who were reappointed in various departments, including the Secretariat, Heads of Departments (HODs), and government agencies. This includes notable figures like N.V.S. Reddy, the Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL), and B.L.N. Reddy, Chief Engineer of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA). The directive, issued by the Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MAUD) department, applies to all retired employees working on a contract or outsourcing basis in state-level offices, corporations, and boards. Departments requiring the services of these officers must obtain fresh orders and provide justification for their continued employment. This move affects a significant number of retired personnel, including 63 from HMDA and 45 from GHMC, and aims to streamline the government's workforce by replacing retired staff with fresh talent.10:18 AM Mar 28, 2025 IST
