Hyderabad: BRS MLC K. Kavitha, during a public interaction in Mancherial, clarified that she holds no personal agenda and reaffirmed her loyalty to the party. She said her recent letter was written purely out of concern for the party’s future, not to create controversy.
Kavitha strongly opposed any alignment of BRS with the BJP. “Any party that joined hands with the BJP did not benefit. I will never agree to a merger with them,” she stated. She questioned the silence of senior BRS leaders when KCR faced notices in the Kaleshwaram project case. “Why was there no response then? When I was in jail, there were talks of merging the party into the BJP,” she said, expressing disappointment over internal indifference.
She defended her letter to the party leadership, claiming the concerns she raised reflect what many people have been thinking. “There’s nothing wrong in writing that letter. Instead of blaming me, ask who leaked it,” she added.
Kavitha also highlighted her attempts to meet her father, KCR. “I wanted to meet him. I had a chance, but I couldn’t go,” she shared.
Remembering the contributions of community leaders, she said Jagruti had organised events on the death anniversaries of Bhagya Reddy Varma and P.V. Narasimha Rao. She mentioned giving young leaders opportunities through Singareni Jagruti and credited KCR’s decision to prioritise hereditary employment for local youth in Singareni Collieries.
During her visit, Kavitha also met the family of deceased journalist Muneer and offered her condolences. Her remarks came amid growing questions about leadership and direction within the BRS, following internal unrest and public scrutiny over party decisions.
