Rachakonda police solve missing woman case in Meerpet; Husband admits to brutal murder

On January 16th, 2025, Putta Venkata Madhavi went missing from her home in Jillelaguda village. Her mother reported her disappearance to the police, who, after reviewing CCTV footage, found Madhavi had entered her home with her husband, Putta Guru Murthy, on January 15th but didn't leave. Suspicion fell on Guru Murthy, who eventually confessed to killing his wife. He detailed how he strangled her during an argument on January 16th and then dismembered her body, burning and disposing of the remains. Based on his confession, Guru Murthy was arrested and charged with murder. Evidence collected at the scene included the tools used to dispose of the body, clothing, and cleaning supplies. The Commissioner of Police commended the Meerpet Police team for their diligent investigation and efforts in solving the case.
