Telangana Excise STF registers 587 cases, seizes major drug & liquor hauls in 2024

In 2024, the Telangana Excise Department's Special Task Force (STF) made significant strides in combating narcotics, illicit liquor, and illegal substances. The STF filed 587 cases, including 285 related to country liquor production, 208 concerning narcotic drugs, and 64 tied to counterfeit liquor. They seized large amounts of contraband, including 1123 kilograms of ganja, 12 kilograms of hashish oil, and 1175 liters of non-duty paid liquor. The STF comprises four teams, each led by a senior officer and supervised by Additional SP Bhaskar. They conducted multiple raids across five sectors, resulting in the seizure of various illegal substances and 153 vehicles. The STF's efforts led to the registration of 587 cases, with Team A leading with 209 cases, followed by B Team with 153 cases. C Team and D Team registered 110 and 113 cases respectively. Enforcement Director V.B. Kamalasan Reddy announced awards and cash rewards for the best-performing STF members, recognizing their dedication to public safety and law enforcement in Telangana.
