Hyderabad: Raj Pakala, brother-in-law of K. T. Rama Rao, the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), appeared for a hearing at the Chevella Excise Department Office on November 1, 2024. This hearing is part of an investigation related to allegations involving the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Telangana Gaming Act.

Earlier, the Mokila police had summoned Raj Pakala to clarify these allegations following a raid conducted by the Special Operation Team (SOT) of Cyberabad at Raj Pakala's farmhouse in Janwada during the night of October 26-27, 2024. The operation was initiated based on information regarding a rave party, involving authorities from the Narsingi Police, SOT, and the Excise Department.

During the raid, 21 males and 14 females were detained for questioning. One individual, Vijay Madduri, tested positive for cocaine and was subsequently sent to a hospital for further testing. A case has been registered against him under Section 27 of the NDPS Act at Mokila Police Station.

Authorities also discovered that a liquor party was organized without the necessary permits from the Excise Department. During the raid, seven unauthorized bottles of foreign liquor and ten loose Indian liquor bottles were seized with the assistance of a sniffer dog.

Investigations revealed that Raj Pakala, the owner of the farmhouse, failed to obtain the required Excise license for serving alcohol, leading to additional charges against him under relevant sections of the Excise Act.
