Hyderabad Police imposes restrictions on kite flying & loudspeakers during Sankranti festival
The Hyderabad City Police has announced restrictions for the Sankranti Festival (January 13-15, 2025) to ensure public safety and order. These restrictions include: Kite flying ban: Kite flying is prohibited on all major thoroughfares to prevent accidents. Loudspeaker restrictions: The use of loudspeakers or DJs in public spaces requires prior police permission and must comply with noise pollution standards set by the Telangana government. Noise limits: Specific noise limits apply to different areas (industrial, commercial, residential, and silent zones) throughout the day and night. Nighttime silence: No loudspeakers or public address systems are allowed between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Safety advice: Parents and citizens are urged to guide children on safe kite flying practices, especially near electric poles and rooftops. Bonfire restrictions: Public bonfires are prohibited without property owner consent. Violators will face legal action under various laws.
