Whereabouts of 4 trapped workers in SLBC tunnel located: Minister Krishna Rao

A breakthrough has been made in the rescue efforts at the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel in Telangana, India, where a portion of the tunnel roof collapsed on February 22, trapping eight workers. Telangana Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao announced that rescue teams have located the whereabouts of four of the eight trapped workers using radar technology. The minister stated that the workers are likely located beneath the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and that while rescue efforts are ongoing, the chances of their survival are slim. Over 500 rescuers from various agencies, including the Army, Navy, NDRF, and SDRF, are working tirelessly to clear the debris and reach the trapped workers. The rescue operation is expected to continue through Sunday evening.
