IITA, Moinabad hosts passing out parade for 72 canines and 101 handlers
The 24th batch of the All India Level Canine Basic Induction Course at the Integrated Intelligence Training Academy (IITA) in Hyderabad concluded with a passing out parade on Friday. A total of 72 canines and 101 handlers successfully completed the intensive eight-month training program, showcasing their skills and readiness for law enforcement roles. The graduating canines, including Labrador Retrievers, German Shepherds, and Belgian Malinois, were trained in specialized fields such as explosives detection, narcotics detection, and tracking. Handlers from various state and central police units across India participated, further enhancing the strength of law enforcement teams nationwide. Director General of Intelligence, B. Shivadhar Reddy, commended the dedication of both the canines and their handlers, highlighting their crucial role in strengthening law enforcement across India. He also praised the performance of Telangana Police canine teams at the recent All India Level Police Duty Meet, where they secured the overall championship. The passing out parade included impressive demonstrations by the newly trained canines and their handlers, highlighting their exceptional training and agility. Shivadhar Reddy emphasized the need for continuous improvement in training methods and technology to keep pace with evolving criminal activities and praised the strong bond between handlers and their canine partners. He concluded by urging the new canine units to serve with dedication and honor, bringing pride to their forces and contributing to national security.
