Telangana Weatherman predicts rising temperatures; Hyderabad to reach 40°C this week
Hyderabad: Telangana Weatherman (@balaji25_t) issued a weather update on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), forecasting a rise in temperatures from today.
He stated, “With dry winds from the North, temperatures will start increasing. From March 27-30, North and East Telangana will experience temperatures of 41-43°C, while Hyderabad will see 38-40°C. It won’t be a heatwave, but it will be hot. A respite is expected after March 31.”
As of 8:30 a.m. on March 25, 2025, the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, recorded maximum temperatures in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area. Rajendra Nagar saw 34.0°C, Hayathnagar recorded 33.6°C, Begumpet reached 33.8°C, and Patancheru recorded 33.4°C.
Heavy rains and thunderstorms affected parts of Hyderabad on the night of March 21, 2025. The storms, which began late in the evening, caused disruptions, particularly in Kondapur, where roads were flooded.
The highest rainfall recorded on March 21 was 54.5 mm at the University of Hyderabad in Rangareddy district’s Serilingampally mandal. Kukatpally in Medchal Malkajgiri district, including Allapur Vivekananda Nagar and Moosapet Circle, received 50.8 mm. Other areas in Rangareddy district, such as Madhapur’s Chandanagar, saw 48.8 mm, while Khairatabad Circle-19 (Yousufguda) recorded 48.5 mm. The least rainfall was recorded at Rajiv Nagar Community Hall in Uppal mandal, with 23.0 mm.

On March 22, 2025, the Telangana Weatherman issued a thunderstorm warning, predicting severe storms across Central and South Telangana in the late afternoon and evening. Hailstorms were also expected, with residents urged to stay alert.

4. Use fans, air conditioning, or homemade ice packs to cool your living space.
5. Eat light meals such as salads, grilled foods, and cold dishes to stay cool.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay prepared for the intense heat expected this summer.
