Hyderabad resident fined Rs. 1000 for misusing drinking water in Jubilee Hills

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) fined an individual ₹1000 for using drinking water to wash his bike. The Managing Director, Ashok Reddy, witnessed the misuse while traveling and ordered the local General Manager to investigate. The individual was found to be using water meant for consumption for an unrelated purpose. Reddy emphasized the importance of responsible water usage due to depleting groundwater levels and rising demand, especially during potential water shortages. The HMWSSB supplies 550 million gallons of water daily to the city and has warned that any misuse of drinking water for non-consumption purposes will result in legal action.
