Rs. 14.3L worth of expired food seized at Heemankshi Bakers, Rangareddy
On January 8, 2025, food safety officials in Telangana, India, inspected Heemankshi Bakers Pvt Ltd and found serious violations of food safety standards. The inspection revealed improper storage of food items, insect infestation, unlabeled ingredients, and expired products. A total of 1,040 kg of unlabeled and expired ingredients were seized, along with food articles worth Rs. 14.3 lakh. The facility also lacked proper drainage, hygiene, and staff were not wearing protective gear. In a separate inspection on December 30, 2024, officials discovered similar violations at All Rich Dairy Pvt Ltd (Swetha Dairy). The dairy's operating license was suspended due to a lack of proper license display, unapproved products, poor hygiene, and rusted machinery. This inspection revealed that the dairy stored milk products under unhygienic conditions with rust seepage in the cold storage area. The Telangana State Commissioner of Food Safety has suspended Swetha Dairy's license pending further investigation. Both inspections highlighted significant food safety concerns in the Rangareddy district, prompting enforcement action to ensure public health and safety.03:26 PM Jan 11, 2025 IST
