TJUDA slams RMPs & PMPs, calls for stricter action against ‘Quackery’
The Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA) strongly condemned the protest of Registered and Private Medical practitioners (RMPs and PMPs) in Hyderabad, calling them 'illegal quacks' who lack medical qualifications and are endangering public health with their practices. TJUDA accused them of recklessly prescribing harmful treatments, contributing to drug resistance and a potential health crisis. TJUDA criticized the RMPs' demand to stop raids by the Telangana State Medical Council (TGMC), calling it an attempt to avoid accountability for their practices. They emphasized that the TGMC is acting within its legal authority by enforcing the NMC Act, which prohibits unregistered medical practitioners. TJUDA called upon the Department of Health and Law Department to impose stricter laws, arrest the 'quacks,' and punish their supporters for their actions.07:36 PM Feb 10, 2025 IST
