Two Ayurvedic products seized in Telangana for false health claims

The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) of Telangana seized two Ayurvedic medicines, Rheuam Liniment and Stolist Capsules, on January 22, 2025. These medicines were found to be marketed with misleading claims of treating Rheumatism and Urinary Stones, respectively, which violate the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954. The DCA officials conducted raids in Asifabad and Medchal, discovering that the products were manufactured by Maheshwari Pharmaceuticals and Bhrigu's Pharma, respectively. Further investigation is underway and legal action will be taken against those responsible for the misleading advertisements. The DCA encourages the public to report any suspected illegal drug activities by contacting their toll-free number.
