Hyderabad Police register 26 cases in 6 days against illegal sand transportation

The Telangana government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has launched a crackdown on illegal sand mining and transportation in Hyderabad. From February 14th to 19th, 2025, Hyderabad City Police conducted a major operation, resulting in 26 cases filed, 8 vehicles seized, 57 arrests, and the confiscation of over 1,196 tons of illegally transported sand. A raid on an illegal sand storage facility led to the arrest of K. Santhosh Singh, who was selling sand at inflated prices without proper permits. The police have urged citizens to report any suspicious activities related to illegal sand transportation and reminded the public that selling sand without valid permits is illegal.
