Hyderabad: The Commissionerโs Task Force, South West, Hyderabad City, along with the Mandal Revenue Officer, Nampally Mandal, Hyderabad Division, conducted a raid on an illegal sand storage facility named "Sandeep Weigh Bridge, Sandeep Construction & Building Material," located at Jummerat Bazar, near HP Petrol Pump, Puranaphool, Hyderabad.
The operation led to the apprehension of K. Santhosh Singh (37), a resident of Lower Dhoolpet, Hyderabad, who was found to be involved in the illegal storage and sale of sand without the necessary permissions from authorities.
A total of 60 tons of sand, worth Rs. 1,20,000, was seized during the raid. Santhosh Singh had been selling the sand at inflated prices, lacking valid way bills or documentation required by mining authorities. While he presented papers indicating the sand was being delivered to other districts, it was being dumped and sold within Hyderabad City.
Authorities are urging the public to report illegal sand businesses. Selling sand without the proper permits is a violation of the law. If such activities are noticed, citizens are advised to immediately dial 100 to report them.
