Padma Awards 2025: Duvvur Nageshwar Reddy, Manda Krishna Madiga, Nandamuri Balakrishna from Telangana & AP honored
The Padma Awards, India's highest civilian honors, were announced on Republic Day 2025. This year, 139 individuals were awarded across three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri. Among them, 23 were women, 10 were from the Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI category, and 13 were posthumous recipients. From Telangana, Dr. Duvvur Nageshwar Reddy, a renowned gastroenterologist, received the Padma Vibhushan for his contributions to medicine. Manda Krishna Madiga, an activist and politician, was awarded the Padma Shri for his work in public affairs, specifically advocating for the rights of the Madiga community. Andhra Pradesh was represented by actor and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna, who received the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to art through his work in Telugu cinema.
