About Sonu Nigam
Sonu Nigam is a renowned Indian singer, music director, and actor. He has recorded over 6,000 songs in 32 languages, including Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Telugu, and more. He is known for his versatility, which allows him to perform romantic ballads, ghazals, rock, and devotional music.
Sonu Nigam’s accolades include one National Award, two Filmfare Awards, and four IIFA Awards for Best Singer. In 2022, he was honored with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award.
The son of Agam Kumar Nigam and Shobha Nigam, Sonu began his musical journey at the age of four. He later moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in Bollywood music, where he trained under Hindustani classical musician Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. Nigam’s early influences came from his idol, Mohammed Rafi, earning him the nickname "Modern Rafi." Sonu Nigam married Madhurima Mishra in 2002, and the couple has a son.
