Narsingi: Dust from RMC plant chokes Hallmark Vicinia, residents protest against air pollution
Residents of Hallmark Vicinia and My Home Avatar in Narsingi, Hyderabad, are suffering from severe dust and noise pollution caused by a nearby ready mix concrete (RMC) plant for the past three years. The plant, operated by RDC Concrete India Pvt. Ltd., lacks noise barriers and proper storage for stone aggregates, leading to dust spreading in the surrounding area. Despite numerous complaints to the Telangana Pollution Control Board (TGPCB), no significant action has been taken. This situation is particularly alarming as the dust and pollution are affecting the health of children and senior citizens. While the TGPCB previously ordered the closure of an RMC plant in 2022, the current plant operates under the guise of 'Captive Purpose.' This highlights the issue of illegal RMC plant operations in the city, with over 20 such plants found operating without proper approvals along the Outer Ring Road.04:30 PM Mar 03, 2025 IST
