Rat feces, spoiled veggies found at Narayana Educational Society kitchen in Kuntloor
The Food Safety Commissioner's Task Force in Hyderabad conducted an inspection at the Central Kitchen of Narayana Educational Society in Kuntloor Village, Rangareddy District on March 10, 2025, finding numerous violations of food safety regulations. The violations included: Water Safety: The water analysis report lacked tests for microbial contaminants, and the raw inlet water tank for the R.O. plant was unclean. Licensing: The Food Business Operator (FBO) held an incorrect license category and was instructed to apply for a modification. Transport: Nine vehicles used for food transportation lacked the required transport category licenses. Hygiene: The kitchen had patchy flooring, stagnant water, broken wall tiles, and rat feces in the vegetable cutting area. Spoiled vegetables were found, and rusty knives were being used for cutting. Pest Control: Houseflies were present in multiple areas, and cobwebs indicated poor cleaning. Doors were not properly fitted, allowing pests to enter. Storage: Food articles were stored on the ground instead of on pallets, and food and non-food items were stored together. The Task Force has taken action against Narayana Educational Society under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.09:44 AM Mar 12, 2025 IST
