India’s first Life Sciences Policy to be launched by Telangana, says CM Revanth Reddy
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the 22nd edition of BioAsia 2025 in Hyderabad, highlighting the state's growing prominence in the life sciences sector. He announced the introduction of India's first 'Life Sciences Policy' to further attract domestic and foreign investments, enhance infrastructure, and foster a more industry-friendly environment. Reddy emphasized Telangana's efforts in transforming Hyderabad into a 'Life Sciences capital' over the past 25 years, citing the presence of numerous global pharmaceutical, healthcare, and biotech companies in the city. He highlighted the success of Genome Valley, which has attracted significant international investments, and the recent expansions of Amgen and Miltenyi Biotec in the area. He also emphasized Telangana's success in attracting domestic and foreign investments, securing over ₹40,000 crore in investments in the Life Sciences sector in the past year. Reddy highlighted the state's achievements in job creation, securing ₹1.78 lakh crore in investments at the World Economic Forum in Davos, which will generate 50,000 jobs. Reddy spoke about ongoing projects to develop manufacturing hubs and pharma clusters in the ORR and RRR regions, with the aim of creating over 5 lakh jobs. He outlined a vision for Telangana to become a $1 trillion economy within the next decade and a key player in the global supply chain under the 'China Plus One' strategy.
