Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Zone, along with the Asif Nagar Police, arrested four individuals involved in the illegal sale of Mephentermine Sulphate injections. The accused were importing the injections from Delhi through couriers without a valid prescription and selling them to customers at inflated prices.

The arrested individuals were Rashid Khan (38), a gym trainer from Jhirra, Hyderabad; Mohd Aftab Hussain (23), a therapist from Tappachabutra, Hyderabad; Mohd Habeeb Uddin (22), a student from Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad; and Mohd Rahmath (19), a technician from Tappachabutra, Hyderabad.

Police seized 217 Mephentermine Sulphate injections (30mg, 10ml each), a Suzuki Burgman vehicle (TS 13 EU 3149), two mobile phones, and other items, totaling Rs. 3,15,000.

According to the police, Rashid Khan, originally from Maharashtra, had relocated to Hyderabad in search of work and became a gym trainer and personal trainer. He had a history of addiction to steroid injections and had previously been arrested by the Chandrangutta police in 2022 for selling Mephentermine Sulphate injections.

Despite financial losses leading him to shut down his gym, "RK Gym," Rashid Khan continued his illicit business by ordering the injections online via the website "Indian Mart" and having them delivered by courier.

Once he received the injections, Rashid Khan would distribute them to his associate, Mohd Aftab Hussain, who, along with Mohd Habeeb Uddin and Mohd Rahmath, sold the drugs at gyms, colleges, and local areas at inflated prices, targeting individuals seeking rapid muscle growth or treatment for low blood pressure.

Mephentermine Sulphate injections are in high demand among youth seeking quick physical results, but their misuse has led to a rise in addiction and serious health issues. The accused had been selling these injections without a valid license or doctor's prescription, earning illicit profits through illegal means.

A case has been filed under Cr.No. 507/2024 U/s 278, 318(4) BNS at the Asif Nagar Police Station. The arrests were made under the supervision of Inspectors of Police S. Bala Swamy, Task Force, South West Zone, and SI B. Ajeeth Singh, along with the Asif Nagar Police.
