Telangana CM meets PM Modi in Delhi, seeks Rs. 20,000 crores for Musi Rejuvenation Project
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to advocate for several crucial projects for the state. The key requests included: Approval for Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II: This project aims to expand the city's metro network and covers 76.4 km with an estimated cost of Rs. 24,269 crores. Development of Southern part of Regional Ring Road (RRR): Reddy requested simultaneous development of both parts of the RRR for better utility. Regional Ring Rail project: This project aims to improve railway connectivity in Telangana and neighboring states. Establishment of a dry port near RRR: To facilitate trade for the landlocked state, Reddy sought approval for a dry port connected to a seaport via a Greenfield Road and rail line. Musi River rejuvenation: This project includes development of Bapu Ghat, construction of STPs for Musi purification, and retaining walls/embankments. Reddy sought Rs. 20,000 crores in central assistance. Transfer of defense land for Gandhi Sarovar project: Reddy requested the transfer of 222.7 acres of land for the project. Additional IPS officers: Due to increasing cybercrimes, drug trafficking, and urbanization, Reddy requested 29 more IPS officers for Telangana.
