Paucity of funds hamper restoration works of Nizam-era Mir Alam Mandi
The restoration of Hyderabad's oldest vegetable market, Mir Alam Mandi, has stalled despite initial progress. The project, undertaken by QQSUDA with an estimated cost of Rs 10.50 crore, was meant to be completed in 18 months after starting in April 2023. However, due to a lack of funds, the restoration work has not progressed significantly. The project aims to restore the market's historical grandeur, including reinforcing its structure, strengthening the arch, building a stormwater drain, installing LED lights, constructing cement-concrete roads, and setting up a power yard.08:27 PM Feb 05, 2025 IST
