Hyderabad: How prime govt land was grabbed using forged signature of ex-collector in Neknampur
A massive land grab attempt in Hyderabad involving the forgery of a former Rangareddy Collector's signature has been exposed. Two prominent real estate firms are suspected to be behind the scheme to illegally acquire 30 acres of prime government land worth Rs 1,500 crore. The accused, Mohammad Abdul Wahab, filed a petition in the High Court to reclassify the land as agricultural property and used forged documents to register the land in his name. The investigation revealed that the accused forged the signature of the former Collector, Bharati Holikeri, and used the forged documents to obtain e-pattadar passbooks. The Narsingi police have filed a case against Wahab under multiple sections of the BNS Act and are investigating if the same group is responsible for similar land grab attempts in nearby villages.03:04 PM Feb 11, 2025 IST
