Vimcet Plus-DS Suspension claimed to treat fever seized in Kukatpally
The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) of Telangana conducted raids on March 20, 2025, seizing several medicines that made misleading health claims, violating the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954. The products included PICROSOL Lotion (advertised to treat Leucoderma), Aswagandha Choornam (claimed to cure Tuberculosis), Musli Capsules (falsely promoted as a remedy for Chronic Fever), and Vimcet Plus-DS Suspension (advertised for the treatment of Fever). The DCA confiscated the medicines and initiated investigations. The Director-General of DCA, V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, warned that those involved in making misleading health claims will face legal consequences.
