HYDRAA begins de-watering works at Hyderabad Lakes, restoration set for June 2025
Hyderabad's Lake Protection Committee Chairman and HYDRAA Commissioner, A.V. Ranganath, inspected several lakes on February 28, 2025, to review their restoration and beautification progress. He assured residents that the government will support those affected by the buffer zone restrictions with the TDR scheme, and that no existing homes will be demolished. The first phase of the project, costing Rs. 58.50 crore, involves the restoration of six lakes, including Sunnam Cheruvu and Tammidikunta. HYDRAA is leading the efforts with de-watering operations currently underway, aiming for completion by June 2025.
