ED Hyderabad foils conman’s extortion attempt to exploit PMLA accused
Sandeep Desai, a Hyderabad-based conman, was arrested for impersonating senior Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials and extorting money from individuals under investigation for money laundering. Desai contacted Suresh Kumar Agarwal, Managing Director of M/s CSK Realtors, claiming to be an ED officer and offering to help him in exchange for money. After receiving a complaint from Agarwal, the ED launched an investigation, utilizing CCTV footage and surveillance to identify and locate Desai. During a search of his residence, authorities recovered multiple SIM cards and mobile phones used to perpetrate the scam. Desai admitted to the extortion attempt and claimed false association with ED officers. The investigation is ongoing.top-news
