Caught on cam: Youth driving luxury cars perform risky stunts on ORR

Hyderabad: Despite police crack down on risky vehicle stunts, youth continue to indulge in stunts on city roads in Hyderabad. A video clip showing dangerous car stunts on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Shamshabad has surfaced on social media.

The stunts were reportedly performed in the early hours of Sunday. In the video clip, a few youngsters, driving luxury cars, were seen performing dangerous stunts in the middle of the ORR. As part of the stunt, the racers drive their cars at high speeds, suddenly apply the brakes and before the four-wheelers come to a complete halt, they start spinning them in circles and all this is happening right in the middle of an empty highway.

Last November, the Raidurgam police registered cases against 26 bikers for participating in bike racing and performing stunts. They also seized their bikers. The offenders are required to appear in court to reclaim their seized two-wheelers. The court will release the bikes only after they pay the fine and following legal procedures.

Of late, there has been an increase in the dangerous bike and car stunts on the city roads. Several citizens have complained to police claiming the youngsters are not only causing public nuisance with their stunt riding but are also endangering the lives of fellow road users too.

Following the public concerns, the police teams have intensified their patrolling on the Outer Ring Road as well as city roads in areas such as Raidurgam, Gachibowli, Madhapur, and Hitech. The authorities are also taking prompt action against the growing menace of street racing and stunts.
