Police Advisory to Public

Cybercrime authorities have urged the public to remain alert against such fraudulent APK files. Fraudsters are circulating files with names such as “RTO CHALLAN” or “RTA CHALLAN 140.apk,” which, once installed, secretly access personal and banking information leading to financial losses.

The public has been advised not to download or install APK files from WhatsApp, SMS, or social media links. Applications should only be installed from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Citizens are warned not to share bank details, OTPs, or personal information with anyone.

In case of unauthorized transactions, victims are asked to lodge complaints through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) or dial 1930. For immediate assistance, the Cybercrime Police Station can also be reached at 8712665171. Awareness updates are regularly posted on official handles.
