Hyderabad: Several parts of Telangana, including Warangal, Mahabubabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts, received heavy rainfall on Sunday, with weather conditions expected to remain unstable in the coming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers across many districts of the state over the next week.

According to the latest bulletin, a monsoon trough at mean sea level currently extends from Amritsar to Arunachal Pradesh, passing through Dehradun, Shahjahanpur, and Jalpaiguri. Additionally, an upper air cyclonic circulation persists over the southwest Bay of Bengal, off the North Tamil Nadu coast, between 3.1 km and 5.8 km above mean sea level. This system is tilting southward with height. An east-west trough also extends roughly along latitude 12°N, from the east-central Arabian Sea to the central Bay of Bengal, further contributing to the region’s unstable weather.

For Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, the forecast indicates a generally cloudy sky with chances of light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph. Hazy conditions are likely during morning hours, with temperatures expected to range between 24°C and 33°C. Surface winds will likely be from the west or northwest at speeds of 8-12 kmph.

A yellow warning has been issued for multiple districts, including Hyderabad, for 4th and 5th August, indicating thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds. Heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas of Nagarkurnool and Jogulamba Gadwal districts on 6th August and in southern districts like Mahabubnagar and Wanaparthy on 7th and 8th August.

The public is advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to waterlogging and thunderstorm-related hazards.
