Seven students bitten by rats in Wanaparthy school

TELANGANA: Seven girl students of a social welfare residential school in Buddarangandi village of Gopalpet mandal, Wanaparthy district, were bitten by rats on Sunday night. The students, all in Class 10, were staying in the same dormitory. They noticed bite marks on their hands and legs when they woke up. On checking the room, they found rats moving around.

The students informed the principal, who in turn alerted the school’s auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM) Mounika. Acting on instructions from officials, she shifted the students to the primary health centre in Gopalpet. Medical officer Chand Basha conducted examinations and confirmed there was no risk to their lives.
