Vigilance officials book 32 cases, levy ₹6.6 lakh tax in Hyderabad raid

HYDERABAD: Vigilance and Enforcement (V&E) officials from the City–I unit, in coordination with the Mines and Road Transport Authority (RTA) departments, carried out surprise route checks across multiple locations in the city on the intervening night of October 9 and 10, 2025.

32 cases booked in joint night operation

The checks were conducted at Gandimaisamma X Roads, Bachupally, Miyapur X Road, and surrounding areas. During the operation, several vehicles were intercepted, and officials booked 15 cases under the Motor Vehicles Act, 15 under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, and two under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act.

According to officials, the total tax and penalty levied amounted to approximately ₹6.63 lakh.

Vigilance Dept urges public to report irregularities

The Vigilance and Enforcement Department said the drive was part of its ongoing efforts to prevent leakage of public revenue and curb misuse of government funds and natural resources.

The department appealed to citizens to share credible information on any irregularities or misuse of government resources.
