Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau trapped a Sub-Registrar, Vananthalipuram, of Ranga Reddy district, while accepting a bribe of one lakh on Friday.

According to the ACB, tainted official S. Rajesh Kumar Sub Registrar, Vanstalipuram Ranga Reddy Dist. was caught by Telangana ACB, Ranga Reddy Unit when he demanded a bribe of Rs 1,00,000 and accepted Rs 70,000 from the complainant through K. Ramesh, resident of Nagole, for showing official favour, i.e., "for processing the registration of the property of the complainant." The accused officer thereby performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly. The bribe amount was recovered from Ramesh at his instance.

"The arrested officers S. Rajesh Kumar Sub Registrar, Vanstalipuram Ranga Reddy Dist and K. Ramesh are being arrested and sent to judicial remand. The case is under investigation," said ACB in a statement.
