Hyderabad: In a disturbing incident late Friday night near Uppal X Road, a group of inebriated youths attacked a cab carrying IT employees. The altercation reportedly began during a traffic jam when the cab driver honked to move past the congestion. Irritated by the honking, the intoxicated group confronted the cab, opened the door, and physically assaulted the passengers inside.

The situation escalated when the youths pursued the cab on a scooter after the initial confrontation, causing fear and panic among the victims. The IT employees managed to reach a nearby police station and filed a complaint. Shockingly, the same group was seen waiting outside the station, apparently intending to attack again. However, they fled upon noticing police officers at the scene. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.

In a separate incident, a video circulated on social media shows a man allegedly drinking while driving on the Tolichowki Flyover around 1:50 a.m. on May 4. The footage, captured near the Imperial Hotel by a biker, shows two men inside a moving car. The driver is seen consuming a beverage from a glass bottle suspected to be alcohol, raising serious concerns over road safety.

The video was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by Lokendra Singh, known by the handle @HYDTrafficMan. In his post, Singh urged the Hyderabad Police to take immediate action and prosecute those involved.

He tagged senior police officials, including Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand, requesting action under applicable sections related to endangering public safety, drunken driving, abetment of an offence, and common intention. In response, the Hyderabad City Police acknowledged the post and confirmed that the video had been forwarded to the relevant authorities for further action.
