Hyderabad: A student from the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has received a job offer with an annual package of ₹46 lakh during the 2024–25 campus placement season, marking the highest-ever salary secured by a student at the university. This figure significantly surpasses last year’s highest package of ₹17.89 lakh.
As per the university’s official statement, the top offer was made to a student pursuing an M.Tech in Information Technology from the School of Computer and Information Sciences. The university reported that a total of 550 students were placed in 180 companies during this year’s placement drive.
Recruiters represented a wide range of sectors including information technology, analytics, finance, education, research, and consulting. Some of the major organisations that participated in the placement process were Tata Consultancy Services, Deloitte, Oracle, Teradata, Intel, Lloyds, ServiceNow, Micron, Pegasystems, Exim Bank, Accenture, Novartis, General Electric, ICICI Bank, Federal Bank, RSM, Joyalukkas, Blaize, Metric4 Analytics, Synchrony Financial, S&P Global, Progress, DPS, and Sankara Eye Foundation.
The placement season highlighted the growing industry demand for UoH graduates and their preparedness to take on diverse roles across domains. The university credited this success to collaborative efforts by faculty, placement coordinators, and support staff who have focused on training and skill development of students.
Prof. Chetan Srivastava, chairman of the Placement Guidance Advisory Bureau (PGAB), expressed his appreciation for the students’ performance. “Despite a difficult job market, our students have secured notable offers this season. Their achievement brings pride to the university and reaffirms our commitment to academic and professional excellence,” he said.
The placement outcome this year signals a positive shift in opportunities, despite hiring slowdowns in some sectors, and reflects the University of Hyderabad’s growing reputation among top recruiters nationwide.
