Hyderabad: Residents across several areas have complained that roads and parks in unauthorised layouts are being encroached upon. Roads meant to be 60 feet wide are shrinking due to encroachments on both sides.

Complainants told the Hydraa Prajavani programme that makeshift shops are occupying public spaces, and traders are turning violent when asked to vacate. Citizens urged that plots in layouts approved by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) or Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) be preferred, as these ensure proper roads and parks.

Hydraa Commissioner A.V. Ranganath advised citizens against purchasing plots in unauthorised layouts and directed officials to resolve all complaints promptly.
