Tragic accident in Abdullapurmet: Toddler run over by father's vehicle

Hyderabad: In a heart-wrenching incident, a 13-month-old toddler died on the spot after being accidentally run over by a vehicle reversed by his own father at Lashkarguda Road in Abdullapurmet police station of Rachakonda commissionerate on Monday morning.

The tragedy occurred around 8:30 AM opposite the SBI Bank in Abdullapurmet village. According to Abdullapurmet police, Kallu Naresh (24), an auto driver and resident of the same area, was steering his Goods Carrier (trolley), in reverse.

“His son, Kallem Lohith, who was playing with a ball nearby, suddenly moved into the vehicle’s path. The toddler was caught under the rear left tyre of the trolley, sustaining a severe head injury. He succumbed to his injuries instantly,” said the Abdullapurmet police.

Following an alert, Abdullapurmet police reached the spot, and the child's body was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital (OGH) mortuary for post-mortem examination. Abdullapurmet police have registered a case regarding the incident, and further investigation is underway.
