Traffic curbs in Hyderabad’s Old City for Miss World 2025 heritage walk at Charminar
Hyderabad: In view of the 72nd Miss World 2025 Heritage Walk at Charminar and the welcome dinner at Chowmahalla Palace, traffic restrictions will be in place today, May 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM in parts of Hyderabad Old City.
Vehicular movement will be restricted on roads stretching from Madina to Charminar, Charminar to Shalibanda, Shalibanda (near Rajesh Medical Hall) to Volga Junction, and Volga Junction to Moosabowli via Khilwat Road. These curbs will apply to all types of vehicles, including RTC buses.
Traffic Diversions
- Madina Junction: Vehicles from Nayapool to Charminar will be diverted towards City College.
- Himmatpura Junction: Traffic from Nagulchintha/Shalibanda towards Charminar will be diverted towards Haribowli and Volga Junction to Fateh Darwaza Road.
- Volga Junction: Vehicles from Himmatpura will be diverted towards Fateh Darwaza. Traffic from Fateh Darwaza will also be diverted towards Himmatpura.
- Moosabowli: Traffic from Puranapool (Good Will Café) will be diverted at Moosabowli towards City College and Fateh Darwaza via Doodhbowli.
- Chowk Maidan Kaman: Vehicles from Chowk Maidan to Charminar will be diverted towards Kotla Aliza or Moghalpura.
- Etebar Chowk: Traffic towards Gulzar House will be diverted towards Mandi Miralam Market or Bibi Bazaar.
- Sher-e-Baitul Kaman (Mitti ka Sher Junction): Vehicles will be diverted towards Ghansi Bazaar to reach High Court Road.
- Lakkad Kote (Old CP Office Junction): Traffic from the APAT side towards Charminar will be diverted towards Mir Alam Mandi Market or through the Old CP Office Lane, depending on the situation.
City buses heading towards Charminar will be terminated at Afzalgunj. Buses from Falaknuma will be diverted at Shamsheergunj towards Tadban.
RTC buses heading to district destinations via Nayapool and Madina from MGBS and Imlibun will take an alternate route through Chaderghat Rotary, Nalgonda Crossroads, Chanchalguda Junction, Saidabad T Junction, I.S. Sadan, DMRL Junction, Midhani Junction, MBNR Flyover, and Bandlaguda, continuing towards Aramghar.
Junctions Likely to See Heavy Traffic
Heavy congestion is expected at the following points during the restricted hours:
Puranapool Darwaza, Good Will Café, MJ Bridge, Delhi Gate, Nayapool, Dewan Devdi, Madina X Road, Mandi Kaman, Sheran Hotel/Burqa Bazar, Kali Kaman, Punch Mohalla, Relax Hotel, Moghalpura Kaman, Ganesh Book Centre, Himmatpura Junction, Volga Junction, Lal Darwaza X Road, and Aliabad Junction.
