Hyderabad: Toy train is back on track in Nehru Zoological Park
Hyderabad: After a long gap of four months, the toy train resumed its services at Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad on Sunday. The toy train services were stopped in June 2024 due to engine maintenance works.
Much to the delight of the visitors, Dr. Sunil S. Hiremath, IFS, Director (FAC) and Curator of Nehru Zoological Park, flagged off the train from its original starting station a few meters away from the entry point of the park.
As the toy train resumed its services on Sunday afternoon, a large number of visitors along with their families were seen queuing up at the train station to buy tickets. According to the zoo park officials, nearly 400 visitors enjoyed the toy train ride on the inaugural day.
The visitors were happy to see the toy train back on the track as it is cheaper and an effective means to explore the park. Children were seen enjoying their train ride as they learned about various animals kept in the enclosures along the path. This toy train was gifted by the BHEL in 1968.
