Ram Charan, Prabhas, Sudheer Babu, & Akhil take stand against Konda Surekha
Hyderabad: Tollywood actor Ram Charan has strongly condemned the recent comments made by Telangana Minister Konda Surekha regarding film stars and their families.
Ram Charan stated, “The statements made by Konda Surekha are irresponsible and baseless. Making vulgar public comments about respected individuals is shocking coming from an elected leader who holds public office. This kind of slander aims to destroy the fundamentals of our society.”
He further highlighted the solidarity of the film fraternity, saying, “We will not tolerate such reckless behaviour aimed at us. Our private lives are sacred and deserve due respect. As public figures, we must uplift one another, not tear each other down. #FilmIndustryWillNotTolerate”
Actor Prabhas also weighed in, asserting, “Disrespecting personal lives for political gain is unacceptable. Dignity must remain above politics!”
Sudheer Babu criticised Surekha’s comments, describing them as “Vile and misogynistic.” He added, “Using cinema personalities as political pawns only showcases your desperation. Our fraternity won't be intimidated or bullied by your cheap tactics. You’re not just insulting women and you’re disrespecting the entire industry that brings pride to Telangana. It’s time to shift focus from gossip to governance. Your reputation is already fragile; don’t tarnish it further.”
Akhil Akkineni labelled Surekha's remarks as “baseless and ridiculous,” stating, “Being a public servant who is expected to protect the people, she has forgotten her morals and social welfare. The way she has acted is shameful and unforgivable. There are respected citizens and honest family members who have been left hurt and disrespected. In her selfish political war, she has shamelessly attacked and scapegoated innocent individuals who possess much higher values and social understanding than she does.”
He continued, “As a family member and as a member of the film fraternity, I will not remain silent. Justice must be served to this shameful person. There is no space for people like her in our society. This will not be forgiven, nor will it be tolerated.”
The backlash from the film industry has been widespread, with numerous stars, including Mega Star Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, Nani, Mahesh Babu, Jr. NTR, Venkatesh Daggubati, Manchu Vishnu, Manchu Lakshmi, Varun Tej Konidela, Lavanya Konidela Tripathi, director RGV, Akkineni Amala, Akkineni Nagarjuna, and Sushanth, voicing their condemnation of Surekha’s comments and declaring that the film industry will not tolerate such behaviour.
