Hyderabad: A dangerously tilted traffic signal pole at Barkatpura X Roads near the Nallakunta Road curve is raising concerns among local commuters and pedestrians, who fear it could fall at any moment. Residents are calling on the Kachiguda traffic police to take immediate action to rectify the situation and prevent potential accidents.

The concern was first highlighted on X (formerly Twitter) by Lokendra Singh (@HydTrafficMan). In his post, he urged, “@shotr_kachiguda, please restrict the commuters passing by to ensure public safety. Location: Barkatpura X Roads (Nallakunta Road curve). @HYDTP @GHMCOnline, please check and rectify the alignment of the pole immediately.”

Speaking to the Hyderabad Mail, Lokendra Singh expressed the urgency of the matter. “The leaning traffic signal pole at Barkatpura X Roads poses an imminent threat to public safety, especially on a busy stretch where commuters, including pedestrians, are constantly at risk. Such infrastructure issues require immediate attention to prevent accidents or potential injuries, which could even lead to fatalities.”

Local authorities are urged to prioritise the rectification of the pole to safeguard the community and ensure safe passage for all road users. As the situation stands, commuters continue to navigate the area with heightened caution, hoping for swift intervention from the relevant departments.
