Hyderabad: The Telangana Integrated Command and Control Center (TICCC) is operating at full capacity, serving as the high-tech nerve centre for monitoring the massive Ganesh idol immersion process across the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits on Saturday.

Under the direction of V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, Director of TICCC, a comprehensive surveillance network is in place at TICC through which security and streamlining operations are conducted on a real-time basis. Chiefly, the entire police force is deployed in three shifts for round-the-clock monitoring, covering the three commissionerates of Hyderabad, Rachakonda, and Cyberabad.

Furthermore, the technological setup is extensive, with a network of over 10,000 connected cameras providing live feeds to the command centre. This includes 500 temporary cameras and 9 drone cameras specifically deployed for the immersion festivities. Additionally, four vehicles with mounted cameras are patrolling key areas to offer mobile surveillance coverage.

Monitor Ganesh immersion with high-tech surveillance

“The monitoring of the rally and the immersion process is being done seamlessly from the centre since morning,” said Reddy, adding that “The surveillance covers all critical water bodies, including the central hub of Hussain Sagar, 16 lakes under the Rachakonda Commissionerate, and four lakes in the Cyberabad Commissionerate.”

Most importantly, the key feature of security operations is the advanced use of video analytics. The system is programmed to automatically detect and flag potential security concerns. “For instance, if any abandoned object is found, or suspicious movements are detected, we are using video analytics to identify it by viewing the cameras and immediately alerting the policemen on the ground,” explained Kamalasan Reddy.
