Hyderabad: In an unusual incident in Moosarambagh, Hyderabad, thieves targeted four apartments, stealing shoes and slippers, including those of a police inspector and a woman sub-inspector. Residents were left shocked when they discovered their footwear missing the next morning.

A complaint was filed at Malakpet police station, and an investigation is underway. CCTV footage shows two unidentified individuals arriving in an auto-rickshaw, stealing the footwear, and driving away.

Among the stolen items were department-issued shoes and slippers belonging to the police officers residing in one of the apartments. Further details are awaited as authorities continue their investigation.

In a separate incident, a similar shoe theft occurred at Yashoda Hospital in Somajiguda, Hyderabad, on February 26, 2025. An unknown individual stole a doctor’s shoes from the hospital, and the theft was reported by K. Krishna, a hospital staff member, who noticed the missing shoes in the doctor’s dressing room.

Security footage showed the thief leaving the hospital wearing the stolen shoes, exiting through the B-1 Cellar area, and heading toward Raj Bhavan Road. A case was registered, and the thief was later arrested. Sub-Inspector G. Naresh Kumar led the investigation.
