TGSRTC revises student bus pass charges and toll fees from June 9
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has announced a revision of toll plaza user charges and student bus pass fees, effective from June 9, 2025. This follows the National Highway Authority of India’s (NHAI) annual revision of toll fees, based on which the state government has authorized TGSRTC to increase user charges.
Passengers traveling through toll plazas will now be required to pay an additional user charge of Rs. 10 per toll plaza. Since there are no toll plazas on city routes within Hyderabad, this increase will not affect fares for intra-city travel.
Student bus pass charges, unchanged for the past three years, have been revised to meet rising costs. In Hyderabad and Warangal city routes, monthly student bus passes for distances up to 4 kilometers will now cost Rs. 225, increased from Rs. 150. Passes covering up to 8 kilometers have been revised to Rs. 300 from Rs. 200. For distances up to 12 kilometers, the new charge is Rs. 450, up from Rs. 300. Passes up to 18 kilometers will cost Rs. 585 instead of Rs. 390, and for up to 22 kilometers, the revised fee is Rs. 675 compared to the earlier Rs. 450.
For district routes, monthly student bus passes covering up to 5 kilometers are now Rs. 225, increased from Rs. 150. Passes up to 10 kilometers will cost Rs. 375, up from Rs. 250. For distances up to 15 kilometers, the new charge is Rs. 450, revised from Rs. 300. Passes covering up to 20 kilometers will be Rs. 600, increased from Rs. 400. For 25 kilometers, the charge is now Rs. 675 compared to Rs. 450 previously. Distances up to 30 kilometers have a revised fee of Rs. 750 from Rs. 500, and up to 35 kilometers, the pass will cost Rs. 825 instead of Rs. 550.
The Student General Bus Ticket monthly pass for Hyderabad and Warangal is now Rs. 600, up from Rs. 400. General Bus Ticket monthly passes have also been revised, the ordinary pass increased from Rs. 1,150 to Rs. 1,400, the Metro Express pass from Rs. 1,300 to Rs. 1,600, and the Metro Deluxe pass from Rs. 1,450 to Rs. 1,800.
With a significant number of students commuting during peak hours, the corporation has also decided to permit students to travel on Metro Express buses within Hyderabad city, in addition to city ordinary buses. This measure aims to reduce overcrowding on city buses.
