Passengers complain TGSRTC Gamyam app is not working as intended
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is striving hard to make the bus journey easy for the passengers. As part of these efforts, the RTC had launched ‘TGSRTC Gamyam’, a mobile app that will help passengers track the arrival and departure times of buses on various routes across the state.
If you’ve not downloaded it already then you can do so through Google Play Store or from the TGSRTC official website www.tsrtc.telangana.gov.in.
Of late, the passengers have been complaining about issues with the Gamyam app. They say that the app is not working properly. It often provides inaccurate information—sometimes showing buses arriving half an hour late or an hour early, and in some cases, even indicating that no buses are available. These issues have led to confusion among passengers.
The passengers have said that despite sharing feedback with the RTC department and staff, technical issues have remained unresolved. The RTC technical staff has been blamed for the erratic behaviour of Gamyam as they are not updating the route details in the chips installed on the buses for tracking purposes promptly.
According to a passenger, who was traveling from Khammam to Hyderabad, the Gamyam app initially showed that the bus scheduled for 5:40 am would be delayed by two hours, arriving at 7:30 am, but the passenger did not receive any message from the driver. When he called the helpline, they told him that the bus would arrive as per the original schedule, forcing him to rush to the bus station to catch the bus.
So far, over a million people have downloaded the 'Gamyam' app. However, many passengers are still struggling due to the lack of accurate bus tracking information. Complaints on social media suggest that buses often do not stop at designated stops during nighttime.
