ACB held TGSPDCL sub-engineer for ₹15,000 bribe in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: A sub-engineer of the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 in Secunderabad on October 10, 2025.
Demanded money for meter upgrade, transformer work
According to ACB officials, Bhoomireddy Sudhakar Reddy, Sub-Engineer and in-charge Assistant Engineer, Lalaguda Section, Padmarao Nagar Sub-Division, Secunderabad, demanded and accepted the amount from a complainant for processing a file related to the upgradation of single-phase meters to three-phase meters. The payment also pertained to preparing an estimation copy for erecting a 63 KVA transformer at a site linked to the complainant’s electrical contract work.
Bribe recovered, officer in judicial remand
The bribe amount was recovered from Sudhakar Reddy, who allegedly performed his public duty dishonestly. He was arrested and sent to judicial remand. The case is under investigation.
The ACB urged the public to report instances of bribery on its toll-free number 1064 or through WhatsApp (9440446106). The bureau can also be contacted on Facebook (Telangana ACB) and X, formerly Twitter (@TelanganaACB). Officials assured that the identity of complainants would be kept confidential.
