Sangareddy: The Telangana Pollution Control Board (TGPCB) has ordered the closure of Ralpro Techno Crafts LLP, located at Turkalkhanapur (V), Hathnoora (M), Sangareddy District. This decision was made on December 5, 2024, following the company’s involvement in illegally discharging effluents into Nakka Vagu, near Ismailkhanpet Bridge in Ismailkhanpet Village, Sangareddy Mandal & District.

The incident occurred on November 30, 2024, at around 1:00 a.m., when an effluent tanker, lacking any identification or registration number, was caught discharging untreated effluents into the water body. TGPCB officials detected the illegal activity during a night patrol. Although the driver managed to escape, his assistant, Kethavath Devadas, was caught. During questioning, Devadas revealed the company's name responsible for the illegal discharge.

Upon further investigation, it was found that the effluents discharged were highly alkaline, with a pH level of 12, indicating their harmful nature. The tanker was seized and kept at PETL, Patancheru, for safe custody. The physical characteristics of the effluent in the tanker were consistent with samples taken from the Ralpro Techno Crafts LLP factory.

The factory, which manufactures anodized aluminum profiles, is located just 6 km from the discharge site. A report filed by TGPCB officials on December 2, 2024, confirmed that the company had violated several environmental regulations, including the illegal transportation and dumping of untreated effluents in contravention of the consent conditions set by the Board.

In response to the violation, the TGPCB filed a complaint at the Sangareddy Rural Police Station, leading to the registration of FIR No. 627/2024 on December 2, 2024. The incident also violated government orders issued by the Environment, Forests, Science & Technology Department (GoAP), which restricted the transportation of industrial effluents between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Given the severity of the violation and the potential environmental hazards posed by the illegal discharge, the Telangana Pollution Control Board has decided to close Ralpro Techno Crafts LLP's operations.
