On November 26, 2024, residents of Langer House reported seeing a tanker (AP 28 TD 4699) discharging effluents into the river near Bapughat Bridge, Hyderguda, Attapur, Rajendranagar, Rangareddy District, at around 1:30 a.m. The residents alerted the SHO of Rajendra Nagar Police Station, leading to the registration of a case under Cr.No. 1157/2024, Section 280 and 125 BNS.

TGPCB officials inspected the area and found a sand and aggregate trading site and a lorry parking lot near the riverbank. They also discovered a pipeline used to discharge effluents from the site to the river, which were then transported by tanker. Samples were collected from the river and contaminated soil near the riverbank.

Further investigation revealed that the tanker, AP 28 TD 4699, was carrying 12-15 KLD of effluents originating from Rudra Technologies' facility in Pashamailaram, Sangareddy District. The effluents were documented in a tax invoice dated November 25, 2024, as being sent to Raghavendra Chemicals in Vikarabad District. However, Raghavendra Chemicals has been non-operational since TGPCB issued a closure order in April 2023 for discharging effluents into a forest area.

During a subsequent inspection on November 26, 2024, TGPCB officials reviewed CCTV footage showing the tanker leaving the Rudra Technologies facility at around 5 a.m. on November 25, 2024. The inspection also revealed multiple non-compliance issues with the facility's Consent for Operation (CFO) conditions.

The investigation concluded that Rudra Technologies was involved in the illegal transportation and dumping of untreated effluents into the Musi River, leading to the closure order.
