Hyderabad: The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) has refunded Rs. 43.3 crore to 4,961 cyber fraud victims across the state during the National Mega Lok Adalat which was conducted on March 8, 2025.

Working together with the State Legal Services Authority, financial institutions, and law enforcement agencies, the TGCSB effectively helped the 4,961 cyber fraud victims through an expedited judicial process, a statement from the DGP office said on Sunday.

TGCSB and its partners are committed to addressing the rising menace of cybercrime and the success of the National Lok Adalat 2025 underscores it, the statement added.

In 2024, the TGCSB achieved a major milestone in combatting cybercrimes by facilitating refunds totalling Rs. 183.92 crores to 17,912 victims. A record 21,722 victims have received refunds amounting to Rs. 191.21 crores since February 20, 2024.

The Cyberabad unit handled 1,331 cases, facilitating refunds amounting to Rs. 9.26 crores.

Rachakonda followed closely with 747 cases, securing refunds worth Rs. 9.38 crores.

Hyderabad recorded the highest refund amount at Rs. 12.36 crores for 510 cases.

Nizamabad unit handled 250 cases and refunded a total of Rs 1.9 crore.

Kothagudem secured refunds worth Rs. 50 lakhs for 210 cases.

Sangareddy handled 163 cases, leading to refunds of Rs 75 lakhs.

Citizens are urged to stay vigilant against cyber fraud and follow these precautions:

● Never share personal or banking details over calls or emails from unknown
sources.
● Verify customer care numbers only from official websites before making
financial transactions.
● Avoid clicking on suspicious links received via SMS, email, or social media.
● Report cyber fraud immediately within the golden hour by calling 1930 or filing a complaint on www.cybercrime.gov.in.
